One author put it this way about this abundant planet.. We were never meant to have to pay to live on this planet.

The money system of haves and have nots… when will we be kind and loving to all again? Sharing the wealth of this beautiful planet?

Wonderful writing, Kati! Thank you for the new word " deservation", and the reminder of the very apt word, "clusterfuckery". Both shall now be in my vocabulary.

More significantly, I agree with you. I too was born into comfort and had all my basic needs met as per Maslow's hierarchy. However, as a young teen, I began to realize that my dad was right when he'd respond to my "That''s not fair!" outbursts: "Life's not fair, Cathy."

Shocker!

But, it didn't take long for me to realize that my father was correct and I saw and read about such inequality everywhere. And, true to my practical but shy nature, I became a teacher to help make a difference on a small but important scale. I believe I did.

And I had to let go of my fervent messianic desire to save all the children (and maltreated animals) on the planet. Which I did, except in my heart. I still do look for those ways, if only in my writing or my teaching.

Because to me, the world out there is even more of a clusterfuckery than ever before. However, again, I quote my dear old dad: "Take care of you and the world will take care of itself." That's not meaning to be selfish and greedy. Rather, it means deal with what is in front of me, in my own life and make that the best it can be.

Oh, and be grateful. Be very, very grateful.

P.S. Scripture can say very diverse things. For example, to your quote from Matthew, I offer the following, also found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and the Qur'an: "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven." 🤔

I found the word deservation in Urban Dictionary, my favourite resource. I always find fun words there 😃 Clusterfuckery just popped up somewhere in the Internet and I loved it! And I agree with what you say. We cannot save all the kids in the world but you know who could: The Billionaires!

You deserve your country if you are a good human, take care of the less fortunate, participate in your government (vote) and are kind

1) You gave me a new word and I love it! clusterfuckery! My previous favorite 'word' was 'clusterfuck'. Thank you! 2) I've been circling the sun for over seventy years about so I can identify with you, love what you wrote, feel the same way myself, born in a country that used to be the 'shining light on the hill', the 'promised land' for many... Still is in some ways though now fractured - literally! 3) I was born into a family that was deeply immersed in being Franciscan Irish Catholics, (not Roman though we have to put up some times with their never ending bullshit though I have great faith in our new Pope) which I still am, avidly - to the point of joining the Third Order of Franciscans, the lay 'arm' of the Franciscan Order. Like Francis we observe the vows, 1) Obedience to God only and those who truly follow Him and speak with words given them by the Holy Spirit - I see evidence of the Spirit throughout what you wrote even if you do not think so. She/He can be a deliciously sneaky character - and an Omnipresent One - is everywhere!! 2) Poverty - was finally gifted with this a year and a half ago - like completely. Causes? massive health bills - over two hundred thousand in less than a year due to my beloved and best friend and only lover's insurance company who dropped her without telling her. We found out when she fell and broke her hip. As soon as my writing earns a couple of more bucks, you will be my next paid subscriber. After successfully running four different companies , I went out on my own as a manufacturer's rep and earned over 500,000 a year. Then the third health scare hit and disability here I come. Bought a disability policy that ended up saving my ass until the private one ended when I was sixty five. Put three kids through college, two at the University of Michigan and one at DePaul. My then wife started a company at 60 (she was a teacher for 25 plus years) that wiped out everything we had. because she gave up. Managed to survive comfortably until I divorced her (reasons a plenty - even my kids kept suggesting it for the five years before 'the deed'. She still got most everything. Ended up with a caretaker who showed and shows me true love. She follows the same boss. We call Him our Jewish Boss since He was born a Jew, raised as a Jew, taught the best as a Jew, died (murdered) as a Jew and came back to life as a Jew. The purpose is to turn ourselves completely over to Him (this killed my anxiety) - let Him do the worrying and helps with my 95% disability, a tremendous gift! 3) Chasity - which in the Third Order means you stick with your best friend and only love - there is nothing else on this planet we are wrecking. Sometimes passing the end of the month with no money, nothing to pay for certain meds and food. We look at our combined checking account and we had a total of sixty seven cents. We laughed our asses off and asked Him for some help. This is a conundrum at times because though He always gives you the answer - its often not exactly what you asked for. He will give us what we need. This episode of 'life' gave us the opportunity to experience 'poor', another gift helping you UNDERSTAND the people working or not who having it worse than you. What a gift! Excellent missive. Keep writing! Love it!

Couldn't agree more. I see that we have to cooperate and look after each other more and more. The glitch of history that has been 1945 to 2025 is going away, and we're looking down the barrel of what most humans before us have had to deal with.

Oh, and I fear that your grandchildren are not in for a good time.

Several of our friends kids ( I'm 69 ) have announced that will not having children.

Great quote though : so relevant today.
